Labor Induction Story Pt 2

You wouldn’t believe how many people were in my room during active labor!

MIL

Aunt in law

Father in law in the waiting room with the step father in law

Brother in law (twin of my hubby)

Hubby’s best friend (whom is now like a brother to me and God father to my kids)

My bestie

My mom

My hubby….

A couple extras…

*We will talk about the people that you allow in your labor space, and how that matters at another time *

After various position changes sitting on a berth ball doing all fours on the bed. I finally was able to sit down back in the bed and everyone got hungry from watching my activities so they all headed down for lunch in the cafeteria. Thank God my bestie was there because the eyes we’d make to each other about the convos going on around us made me laugh🤪.

In between that time, I can’t honestly tell you if they hung Pitocin for me or not because I don’t remember, but my contractions started to feel like my belly was ripping open. I finally told the nurse I can’t take it anymore. I need an epidural and they said they didn’t wanna give me an epidural yet because that could possibly slow down my labor and drop my blood pressure (which is true), so they offered “ something to take an edge off”

Well with that, I didn’t know I would start vomiting 2 to 3 times that one hour I got loopy I didn’t know what I was saying, and I was slurring my speech.

I finally got a check around 6pm and I was at 7cm. I celebrated internally after I recovered from being high on analgesics 🫠🥴

I got an epidural because those fabricated contractions were ungodly, and took a nap while everyone continued to sing “Who built the arc” because our son was going to be named Noah 🤪 funny but not right ? Like time and place😱

An hour later POP💦 my water broke, everyone clapped, our bestie he was sitting in front of the bed and slid back because ya know splash zone….and things started moving quickly after.

Except they didn’t… my labor was labeled “stalled” by definitely of the hospital and I felt defeated. At the same time, for someone like me, defeat quickly morphs into having the impulse to prove them wrong….

Conversations around baby’s heart rate dipping, not dilating fast enough, cesarean possibility crept into our space…

Stay tuned for the 3rd and final part!
